CÌANN Warranty & Repair Policy

At CÌANN, we take pride in creating finely crafted, bespoke jewellery designed to be worn and cherished for a lifetime. Every piece we produce undergoes rigorous quality control and inspection prior to delivery to ensure it meets our exacting standards of craftsmanship.

This Warranty & Repair Policy is provided in accordance with Canadian Consumer Protection Laws, which grant consumers certain rights that cannot be excluded or limited.

Your Rights Under Canadian Consumer Law

Under Canadian consumer protection legislation, our products and services come with statutory guarantees that they will be:

  • Of acceptable quality

  • Fit for their intended purpose

  • As described at the time of sale

If a product or service fails to meet these guarantees, remedies may be available depending on whether the issue is considered minor or major, as defined by law. Nothing in this policy limits or replaces your legal rights under applicable Canadian consumer protection laws.

Custom & Bespoke Jewellery – No Refund Policy

All custom, bespoke, and made-to-order jewellery created by CÌANN is final sale. Because custom rings are made specifically to a client’s individual specifications (including but not limited to ring size, stone selection, setting design, and metal choice), we do not offer refunds or returns for change of mind, including:

  • Deciding you no longer like the design

  • Finding the item elsewhere for a lower price

  • No longer requiring the item

This does not affect your rights under Canadian Consumer Law in the event of a verified manufacturing defect.

Design Approval & CAD Confirmation (Custom Jewellery)

All custom and bespoke pieces created by CÌANN include a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) rendering prior to production. Before any custom piece proceeds to manufacturing:

  • The CAD will be shared with the client for review

  • Design details such as proportions, stone orientation, setting style, band width, and overall structure will be discussed

  • Written approval of the CAD is required before production begins

By approving the CAD, the client confirms that:

  • The design accurately reflects their requested specifications

  • They understand that minor variations may occur between digital renders and the final

  • handcrafted piece

  • Production will proceed based on the approved design

Once CAD approval has been provided and production has commenced, design changes, cancellations, and refunds are not permitted.

Manufacturing Warranty Coverage

Rings (Engagement Rings, Wedding Bands & Fashion Rings)

Coverage Period: Manufacturing Warranty applies from the date of delivery.

What’s Covered:

Manufacturing defects relating to the structure and craftsmanship of the jewellery, including:

  • Structural metal defects (e.g. porosity or integrity issues)

  • Setting issues identified upon receipt or during covered servicing

  • Manufacturing faults that make the piece unfit for its intended purpose

If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, CÌANN will repair or replace the item at no cost, as required by law.

3-Year Complimentary Repair Coverage

For three (3) years from the date of delivery, CÌANN offers complimentary repairs for the following services:

  • Prong tightening

  • Professional polishing

  • Ring resizing (within reasonable size limits)

  • Replacement of side stones lost due to setting failure (excluding centre stones)

This coverage applies only when normal wear conditions are met and the jewellery has not been altered by a third party.

Centre Stone Disclaimer & Insurance Recommendation

While CÌANN takes every precaution to securely set centre stones, damage to or loss of a centre stone is not covered under our warranty or repair policy.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Chipping, cracking, or breakage

  • Loss due to impact, accidental damage, or wear

  • Theft or mishandling

To protect your investment, CÌANN provides an appraisal document with your ring, which can be used to obtain personal jewellery insurance. We strongly recommend insuring all centre stones immediately upon receipt.

What Is Not Covered

Our warranty and repair coverage does not apply to:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Damage caused by impact, accidents, or misuse

  • Damage caused by chemicals (chlorine, cleaning agents, cosmetics, etc.)

  • Bent, worn, or damaged prongs caused by daily wear

  • Loss of stones due to accidental damage or neglect

  • Alterations or repairs performed by any jeweller other than CÌANN

Jewellery that has been modified or serviced by a third party will void any remaining coverage.

Assessment & Repair Process

If you believe your jewellery has an issue:

  1. Contact CÌANN through our official contact channel with a description of the concern.

  2. We will arrange for the piece to be assessed either in person or by insured shipment.

  3. All items are assessed to determine whether the issue is:

    • A manufacturing defect

    • Covered under our 3-year repair coverage

    • Outside of warranty coverage

  4. If the issue is not covered, a repair quote will be provided for approval before any work is performed.

Proof of Purchase

All warranty and repair services require valid proof of purchase. Coverage applies only to the original purchaser.

Jewellery Care & Responsibility

Fine jewellery requires ongoing care. To maintain the integrity of your ring, we recommend:

  • Removing jewellery during sports, gym activity, or manual labour

  • Avoiding exposure to harsh chemicals and chlorine

  • Scheduling regular inspections to ensure prongs and settings remain secure

  • Jewellery is often most vulnerable when worn daily, and proactive care significantly extends its lifespan.
